Although perfect for a quiet overnight stop the many guest establishments in the village of Nieu Bethesda offer various activities and facilities for the tourist. Cyclists can bring their own bikes or hire them and there are walks/hikes and even a climb to the top of Compassberg. There is horse-riding on a farm and bird watching everywhere (guided or unguided). Visitors can take a donkey cart ride or go on scenic drives from the village.
